Episode 47 – Strong and Fit at Any Size; Natalie’s Story
There’s no escaping the messaging in the fitness industry that thinner is better. When all we hear is “burn this, sculpt that, tone this, lose that”, it’s implied that the way to achieve any fitness goal is through weight loss. Whether we want to get stronger, improve our flexibility, have more endurance, decrease joint pain…. The prescribed solution is usually “lose weight”. And conversely, if we gain weight we assume it means we will struggle with all of these things.
In this episode, you’ll hear from Natalie, a fitness instructor who after years of dieting and controlling her body, reached her breaking point and began the process of intuitive eating. She’ll share the internal struggles she faced as her body changed, including fear of judgement and fear that she wouldn’t be able to keep doing her job.
