EP 64 – The Sneaky Mindset Block That’s Sabotaging Your Motivation
It’s the third week of February and in the fitness world, we refer to this week as the week where New Year’s Resolutions go to die.
Of course, I’m not a fan of New Year’s resolutions in the first place, but it seems that 5-7 weeks seems to be the lifespan of most goals, no matter when you set them. After that time, willpower starts to wane and motivation dwindles.
The natural instinct when this happens is to set a new goal – a bigger goal with tighter rules, more discipline, less “chance to fail”.
But consider this – it’s not your fault. Nothing has gone wrong.
On this episode we’re going to explore a mindset block that is almost universally operating in your unconscious mind when you set goals, that if we’re unaware of SABOTAGES our best efforts to make change.
This mindset block is the root of all of our all or nothing or perfectionist behaviour, people pleasing and fantasizing about weight loss.
