Feeling Great IN Your Body During Midlife with Dr. Jenn Salib Huber

Welcome to part 3 of this four part series debunking the myths about weight and health.

On today’s show, we are joined by Dr. Jenn Salib-Huber, Registered Dietician and Naturopathic Doctor, and we’re talking all things mid-life and perimenopause.

The midlife years bring with them so many changes – emotionally, mentally and physically.  And many women will experience a new level of body image dissatisfaction as well during this time as their body responds to the hormonal changes within.

During this episode, Jenn shares so much wisdom about how to navigate these changes and to feel good IN our body during midlife by focusing on habits and choices that we can control and will make a difference in our overall health, regardless of what is happening to our shape or weight.

While most of the mainstream advice around perimenopause centers around fighting the changes our body is experiencing, Jenn offers a more intuitive and kind perspective.

Through understanding, self-compassion, attunement and gentle nutrition, we can navigate this stage of life as our body’s ally and support ourselves to thrive in midlife.

Jenn’s practical advice will leave you feeling empowered to make the most out of your midlife years.

What you’ll learn by listening:

  1. Why most of the mainstream advice about midlife focuses on weight loss and how this misses the point
  2. How to take the focus off feeling better ABOUT your body to feeling better IN your body
  3. Why it is so important to stop using weight as a proxy for health
  4. Why nutrition matters but not in the way we’ve been led to believe.
  5. Why restricting carbohydrates is NOT necessary to feel better in midlife (or ever)
  6. How we can stop dieting without feeling like we’ve let ourselves go
  7. How joyful movement can help us support our physical, mental and emotional health during midlife.
