My Certifications

From Worst Enemy to Greatest Ally

Hey There!

I’m Kim Hagle – Certified Personal Trainer, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Body Image Coach.

If you’ve landed here, chances are you’re looking for something different.  Something other than the “burn this, sculpt that” messaging that is so common in fitness.

That makes two of us.

After a decade of working in the fitness industry, I’ve seen and experienced first hand how the focus on weight loss and body shaping keeps women in a cycle of starting and stopping, feeling like a failure, and ultimately getting further away from the healthy life they really want.

That was my story too, and I’m so happy I’ve reached a place where my body is my ally.

Let me tell you a little about how I got here:

Like you, I had a history of hating my body that started after a thoughtless comment around the age of 12.  From that moment, I became fixated on my body and what was “wrong” with it, and tried ALL the things to change it so I could feel good about myself.

While I’d never been an athlete growing up (in fact I was the last kid picked for all the teams in school), I fell in love with fitness in my 30’s after hiring a personal trainer myself.  For the first time, I felt strong and capable and proud of what my body could do.  But what started out as a healthy, enjoyable endeavour, quickly turned into an unhealthy obsession.

I became a personal trainer back in 2012 after I had lost a substantial amount of weight, and everyone started telling me what an inspiration I was. The truth is, nutrition and exercise had become like a full-time job for me, so I decided to make fitness and nutrition my actual job.

I was praised for my self discipline and for being so healthy. And while I did mostly feel good physically- I was anything but healthy mentally and emotionally.

My thoughts were consumed with food, exercise and body image. I strictly measured every morsel that went in my mouth. Prepped and planned every meal making sure my calories and macros were in perfect balance. Made up for any excess food intake through exercise (on top of the hour a day I was already doing).

I did feel good in my clothes but I was certainly not confident.

I constantly checked my reflection, weighed myself daily and let the number on the scale dictate what type of day I would have. And I worried constantly about what people would think of me if I gained back the weight.

That fear of rejection was what kept me going for years. Even as I was going through my divorce- controlling my body gave me a sense that I had my shit together when I felt like everything around me was falling apart.

A few years later, I hit the wall.  I no longer had  the mental and emotional capacity to continue trying to micromanage my body. I had 4 kids, one with special needs and a new husband who needed me to be present. And I WANTED to be present.

I realized how much

time, energy, money and joy

fighting with my body had cost me.

Having done this work myself, I have a unique ability to empathize and support my clients to do the same.

My clients say that my super power is being able to meet you where you’re at and  customize my approach to your unique needs.

As your coach,  I’m like your trail guide.  I’ve been down this path myself, I’ve studied the trail and as I’ve taken other people through it, I’ve come to know it really well.

I know the clear path from point A to point B.

I’m fed up with the harmful misinformation that you need to be a certain size to be healthy, attractive, fit, confident, worthy – ANYTHING!

None of that is true, but what is true is that the more fixated you are on your body, the less you can focus on what really matters to you.

It’s now my mission to empower women to break free from tortuous exercise, restrictive eating and body shame, so they can free up their time, energy and resources to pursue their life’s purpose.

I offer a variety of size inclusive fitness and coaching programs to help women create a respectful relationship with their bodies.

Fun Facts About Me

Hey, I’m Kim – multi passionate mom of 4 who took 40 years to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

  • I do my best work on the trail – I love hiking and being in nature always gets my creative juices flowing.
  • I also enjoy golfing, biking, paddle boarding and line dancing (even though I don’t love country music).
  • My favourite food is pizza AND I hate cheese – this is completely logical to me.
  • I love loud rock music best but I’ll sing along to just about anything – my group fitness classes are really a karaoke show 🙂
  • I am a self-taught sewist – I love creating my own clothes.
  • I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. Even as a little kid, I would make stuff and try to sell it.
  • In the evenings you can find me binge watching 90 Day Fiancee or Grey’s Anatomy
